"In two years, all law enforcement agencies will be adopting a triage program to qualify cases. ADF Solutions provides software tools and a program infrastructure that are unparalleled today."
Forensic examiner, Nottingham Police High Tech Crime Unit
"The ADF tools are our only option to search a suspect computer and find evidence quickly in thirty minutes or less."
Forensic examiner, U.S. border agency
"What separates the ADF triage software from other triage tools is the intelligent search technologies that rapidly identify unknown child exploitation images. We have deployed the Digital First Responder® training to several of our detectives and have used the ADF triage software in several high-profile child pornography cases in the Netherlands. The results received with the ADF tools have led us to change our methodology in handling CP cases and have also led to a reduction in our forensic backlog. We intend to enroll several more detectives in the DFR training and have made the ADF triage software a national standard in a set of tools for handling CP investigations."
Dutch National Cybercrime Program, High Tech Crime Unit East-NL
"It is becoming increasingly essential for our investigators and forensic computer analysts to utilize triage tools for rapid evidence recovery, especially when we have examination backlogs. What separates the ADF triage software from other tools we have tried is the intelligent search technologies that rapidly identify previously unknown child abuse images. Our experience with the ADF triage software has shown us that the triage of computer evidence is a valid and valuable emerging technology, with ADF’s software suite leading the way in providing a functional toolset able to be used both in the field and in the laboratory."
Northamptonshire Police, High Tech Crime Unit
"Our experience with ADF triage software has been since their early days. We met representatives from the company at an HTCIA conference in Cleveland, Ohio. They showed us what their product was able to do, and we immediately saw the need in the law enforcement community. We use the product often for previews, probable cause gathering, quick scans for offenders, and multi-computer scans in large networks. ADF’s staff has always been a great help to me when we have had questions regarding their products and have been quick to resolve any issues we were experiencing."
Forensic examiner, Lima Police Department, Ohio Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force
"We took possession of five computers from a suspect who had voluntarily submitted them for a forensic examination. The suspect had been unjustly accused of possession of child pornography but wanted to clear his name. We set up our SearchPaks and scanned all five machines. By 4:00 p.m. that day some four hours after the handover, I was able to inform the investigators that the machines were clean. This would have taken days using conventional methodology. The investigators were impressed, and the suspect was grateful that we quickly identified him as innocent. This is a good example where a negative can have a positive outcome and speedy resolution can prevent claims against law enforcement for undue delay in keeping the machines. I can see this taking off at a pace, when managers recognize its acceptable minimum risk and huge time-saving benefits. To use the old cliché, ‘We need to work smarter, not harder."
Forensic examiner, Durham Police
"I was investigating a case of malicious code distribution at a local university library. The library had 83 computers. I triaged all the computers with Triage-ID® and identified seven computers that had evidence related to the investigation. I was able to focus on imaging and processing these seven computers only. The ADF Triage program saved us imaging and analyzing 76 computers. The cost and time savings are immeasurable."
Forensic examiner, Dutch POLITIE
"We triaged nine computers at one time and it took only two and a half hours. Amazing! We had to search a suspect’s work location but it required the examination of ten computers. That would have taken hours, if not days, of time to do in the past. We set up the SearchPaks® and tested them on our own computers with success. We then went to the business at 10 a.m. and were told the suspect was coming in at 1 p.m. to work on her day off. We got all the systems up and running in minutes, and all the triage scans were done in two and a half hours. The ADF Triage program was outstanding and a time-saver."
Forensic examiner, Victoria Police Department
"We support the triage methodology and confirm that this software provides a facet that is extremely beneficial for child exploitation investigations, particularly improving the speed of examinations and thereby reducing forensic backlogs. Our experience with ADF triage software has been enlightening, and the excellent support and training by ADF has improved our laboratory efficiency and performance."
West Mercia Constabulary, High Tech Crime Unit
"Our experience with the ADF triage software has been a good evolution in our procedures and an extremely useful resource for our team members. Nowadays our first responder teams are capable of producing a valid triage report in record times of 30 to 60 minutes per computer. In fact, the interaction with ADF Solutions’ technical team members has been a remarkable help for us and for the fight against child exploitation and child abuse crimes in our country."
Policia Judiciaria (Portuguese Judicial Police), Computer Forensic Lab
"When I enter a terrorist suspect’s home, we maximize our resources and take apart everything including the plumbing. When I do the same for a local robbery suspect, I adapt my resources and level of investigation to fit the crime. Until now, we were not doing this for forensic examinations. Adopting the ADF Solutions triage tools has provided me with this much-needed flexibility."
Forensic examiner, Leicestershire Police
"The ADF tools are simply awesome. They are not designed to replace the traditional examination but to allow you to quickly determine how to best use your limited resources. Say for example you get in 200 computers and have one week to tell the court if there are illegal images present. The ADF triage family makes this possible. Extensive testing has shown us that with a properly built SearchPak you can confirm or deny the presence of, say, CP in a very short amount of time. The tool has identified unknown CP images using its image matching technology, and in one case I found 400 images where standard hash-based tools had found zero. The tool even found pictures inside the thumbs.db files. With the copies of the software I have now, I can scan around 1,000 computers per month to give my prosecutors enough information to decide how to proceed with a case. The potential for the tools from ADF is unlimited."
Steven Wood, ALSTE Technologies
"The SearchPak® technology is a revolution in the world of computer forensics. Our examiners have been able to close out many cases using the ADF triage tools."
